At the time of this cartoon approved
assisted migrants gained entry to Australia for the cost of ten pounds,
however it was not until a referendum of Australian citizens in 1967 that
Aboriginal Australians were finally given the vote.
Arthur Calwell was the Leader of the Labor Opposition.
