Joining the club!

At the time of this cartoon approved assisted migrants gained entry to Australia for the cost of ten pounds, however it was not until a referendum of Australian citizens in 1967 that Aboriginal Australians were finally given the vote. Arthur Calwell was the Leader of the Labor Opposition.

Note: There was no hook in this cartoon which was published in "The Saturday Evening Mercury", Tasmania - a regular feature at the time. On the other hand you should be able to find a Rhubarb tin and JEFF with three young sons.
