Life on the edge.

Two days before on 15th August, 1979 United States President Jimmy Carter had secured the resignation of Andrew Jackson Young, 14th US Ambassador to the United Nations and the first African American to hold the office. He had long service in various positions in government and the Civil Rights Movement. President Carter was forced to ask for his resignation when it was revealed that Andrew Young had held secret talks with the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) - a move which was at that time against American Law.
